What is Tempered Shower Glass?

When dealing with shower doors, we use tempered shower glass. Tempered shower glass is safety glass and it is the only type of glass permitted for bathroom shower installations. Tempered shower glass is designed against breakage with sharp edges. If tempered glass is broken, it will instead shatter into small oval pebbles, preventing major injuries to homeowners.

Another benefit to tempered glass is that it is designed to deal with extreme heating and cooling. Tempered glass is actually five times stronger than standard glass.

Framed vs. Frameless Showers

Many new homeowners and builders are using frameless showers for a sleek look. A frameless shower provides an all-glass look for the bathroom. It is a high-end design made to accent the bathroom space. Framed glass showers can still look elegant when paired with the right bathroom accessories. A framed shower can be less expensive as the glass is thinner and is reinforced by aluminum casings. Frameless glass showers are easier to clean, but they do require more work initially to build them to ensure they are strong.
